A Prisoner of Love

By Liath

Down on my knees
Eyes focused on the floor
Hollow feeling in my heart
As the happiness is dried up

Shoot me in the head
Captive style
Or take me to the bed
And make me smile

Show me you love me
Or quit wasting my time
Tell me about it calmly
No need to make it rhyme

The string unwinds a little more each day
My heart is pulled this way and that
But you know how to make me happy, each and every way
Open up the place where your love is at

And let me in
I won't make a mess
My confidence is wearing thin
My patience even less

I'll straighten the sheets
That past lovers wrinkled
I'm sure I can top their most breath-taking feats
If not, I'll take back my love and leave you crinkled

I like the change of rhythm and meter though out the poem. It's a very sacred touch. :)
