Monotonous Cycle

By Mistress Morbid

A rest area scattered with
college students
- eating -
- conversing -
- laughing -

I sit alone, cigarette smoke assaulting my nose
- nauseating -

The sun is out, beating down rays of heat
equalized by gusts of wind

A little man made pond with fountains
gushing into the air
random papers floating in it
from students losing their assignments
- soaked -
- bleeding -
- black and blue -

A faint bell can be heard
as students make their way to class
for another long two hours of enslavement

you really painted an everyday scene so perfectly, abd then contrasted it with the clever last line that put it into perspective, calming thoughtful and enjoyable, superb work and the title gives it more meaning still
