The Quiet of Solitude
By steuss
The whispers that you speak,
And the silence that you say,
Creates a void of recognition,
A violence today.
Reminiscent memories,
Captivate and call,
Spoken rivals entertain,
The questions of us all.
Times of revered memory,
Captivate and entwine,
Whisper quiet memory,
For sanity divine.
Today the demons question,
Walk on hallowed ways,
Silence reigns in depth,
And oceans answer pay.
Time relates to afternoon,
Dusk arrives unbidden,
Tomorrow will be defeated,
And my dreams still hidden.
What worshiper will
Wake me now, that happiness
Has gone? Time to wallow
In despair, and breath my
Sorrow song.

There's a wonderful flow to your words. The feeling is pleasant, yet dreary. I enjoy its uniform, traditional feel and "possibly" open-ended meaning.

a particularly lovely closing verse; great harshgentle cadence throughout; both sharp and silken... lovely write. :)
