Yesterday Is Gone

By darkness_descends

Yesterday is gone
Today is here and now
You think about the days ahead
Never stopping to think
That tomorrow
Tomorrow may never come
The memories of the past
Will mean nothing
Will fade and die
With the setting of the sun

Yesterday is gone
Today is here and now
As you head off to work
To do yet another day of menial tasks
Or off to school
To learn more pointless facts
Take another stupid test
Never stopping to think
That it's a waste of precious time
Because tomorrow
Tomorrow may never come

Yesterday is gone
Today is here and now
You lay your head to sleep
Awaiting peaceful dreams
Or close your eyes tight to weep
Never stopping to think
These may be the last tears you ever cry
That tonight you may die
Because tomorrow
Tomorrow may never come.
