Lilith

By LoneWolf

Oh dear Lilith
Angel who fell for nothing
Why do they still forget you
Why do they still haunt you

Because you declared your equality
As any woman would
Because you demanded
To be treated the same
You came from the dust
As the man of God did

And yet you were not good enough
They had to make woman docile
Subservient
Following man's lead
Since man had to control you
You had to be unmade

Angel of night, you aren't
The being of terror they see you as
You are misunderstood
As are those who believe in you
While they struck your name from history
And threw you to the sharks
Ripped you apart and drove you to the
Four corners of the globe

They didn't know
Your heart was still intact
They didn't know
Your magick still was there
And passed down to those like me
Who seek to redeem
The awesome name that is Lilith

Lovely work indeed. I have read this 3 times. Each time loving it more then the first. I love the way your words become so vivid. She did not deserve what happened to her. All she just wanted what was rightfully hers, equality.

yeah...she got a raw deal from those supposed powers-that-be, alright... independence should not be a sin. Lovely work. :)
