Heartfelt Promises

By sweetambrosia

Broken promises
made new...
forgotten...
made again...
shattering
the dreams
of a child
depending on
your word.
Forgetting you
lied...
trusting...
again...
yet
little by little
that trust ebbs
away...
forgetting.
Growing up
disbelieving,
hurt and lied
to...
don’t
say it anymore!
I can’t stand
losing hope
all because of
broken dreams
and lying words
and...
all your

broken

heartfelt

promises.

actually yeah, quite a bit of resentment. I wrote this several years ago, but I still don't like people to make promises and I refuse to make them unless I can keep them.
