Insomniac's Dream
By Liath
Laying awake,
Can't sleep,
This sickness I can't shake,
It's 3 A.M...BEEP BEEP..
Insomniac's dreams,
A rested reality,
It's much nicer than it seems,
Sleep's divinity.
We take for granted,
Our reverie unconscious,
Eventually your conscience goes rancid,
Empty feeling in the pit of your stomach becomes noxious.
Staring at the ceiling,
Going crazy with boredom,
Dreaming of sleep's relieving,
Stuck in the doldrums.
The sun comes up and I can see the light,
Close is my short-lived liberation,
I am free again until the next night,
When I am held by night's condemnation.
