...Tragic Reflections
By SolApathy
In the distance I feel
My life not seemingly real
These tragedies in which I live
Asked far too much to give
My last dollar gone
My trampled hope, a joke
I lay within the echo of my silent tears
Unable to share the depth of my despair
For you I’ll smile to insure you’ll go away
Never asking if I’m ok
Thoughts of taking my life
A reflection of this knife
My physical form I’ll never sacrifice
My soul is the true victim here
Drying out as long fallen tears fade
This smile, just a façade
My life not seemingly real
These tragedies in which I live
Asked far too much to give
My last dollar gone
My trampled hope, a joke
I lay within the echo of my silent tears
Unable to share the depth of my despair
For you I’ll smile to insure you’ll go away
Never asking if I’m ok
Thoughts of taking my life
A reflection of this knife
My physical form I’ll never sacrifice
My soul is the true victim here
Drying out as long fallen tears fade
This smile, just a façade
