Our Story's End

By happilydepressed

I can't remember the start of our story
Outside the sun unleashes it's fury

Who set the breeze on fire
The world is burning along with all I desire

It's not so easy to explain
My words always choke and die in vain

When our eyes met and locked my mind began to melt
Inviting feelings I have never felt

You wanted love and affection and shared no toil
The love once so sweet now festers and begins to spoil

I never thought I'd live to rue the day
The day I tried cutting the rot away

Is this loneliness all that's left
In all this silence I've gone deaf

Deaf to my own heart's yearning
Blind to the world around me burning

It's all coming to a close but I won't complain
I won't be here to clean it up, I won't remain

Yet I can't help but to worry
I sure hope this is the end of our story
