A Haunted Mind

By happilydepressed

Down the haunted hallways of a vacant mind
Nightmares and repressed memories is all there is to find

Dimly lit inside yet the fires in the distance brightly glow
Faces are blurred, no emotions to show

Where did all the time wasted go now spent
Is this mind broken or just badly bent

Are you friend, foe or just a stranger
Can you feel the fear, do you live for danger

When your bad luck lingers yet
Those memories I'm just trying to forget

Are you the lonelinest when I'm around
I can't see your face, I can't hear a sound

You're a ghost thats starving for attention
Forlorn to search in vain for my lost affection

From a time no longer relevent
When I truly believed your love was heaven-sent

My sanity lost and my heart is in ruin
My happiness deprived and what reamained withdrew in

The glow of the flames grow ever so bright
Until my haunted mind burns then turns to embers and fades into the night
