Not Unlike
By themasterhunter
Touches to the fabric of
my mind's eye
ripples into waves,
disrupting the reflection of the sky-
the stars glitter and gleam
in a world so unreal, so formless
stars glitter better in unreality-
reflections pass for life of the soulless.
The serene touches of the moonlight
glowing on your pale skin
Forbidden rythms sounding in the night
no light to reveal our sin-
This profane ground we tread upon
is made holy by the twinkle in your eye-
one that glitters and gleams like the burning
stars in endless sky-
A gleam that unchecked I left,
the pain of a soulless truth more painful then uncertainty.
Your alabaster whispers in the disconnected dark
connected with me thirstily-
And with a touch, a breath, my devotion was yours-
you lured me like sleep to the freezing-
and I came willingly, and tried to be close
but in the end you left me bleeding-
And the spikes that peirce my heart
hurt less then remembering that twinkle in your eye-
But as I look closer I remember that your eyes were glittering-
Not unlike those reflections of the night sky.
