Repent

By spring hews

Where has the beauty gone from your once beautiful face?
Has life treated you so unfairly? Stole your rightful place?

Turned your heart to stone?
Ransacked your golden throne?

Played the strings of your life untold?
Taken the spoils of ancients old?

Passed your home with a wink and nod?
Sold your soul, but not to God?

Embraced you with arms of fire?
Held your stare with Hells desire?

Can you rise from this descent?
Will you cry out,"I repent"?

Author's Note:

I was sitting in the car one afternoon with my husband and children. My husband is a God Fearing man, me not so much. We were having a conversation about heaven and hell, I began thinking about my life and then, I looked in the visor mirror.
