...Save her...Take me...This is what it should be

By SolApathy

Will I ever dance again?
I feel nothing but dread as this condition spreads
Why you?
Of all the dreams I’ve had –Why did my nightmares have to snare
One of the few of I truly care?
When I needed her, she was always there

My stomach twists with the violence of a tornado
Head throbbing an unimaginable pain
Thoughts burdened by what life would be without you
This illness eating through all the love I have to give
Yet we still don’t know what it is
My pain brings rain drops that never stop
You are the one suffering for naught
I would trade in an instant myself with your spot
Never thought I’d pray until today
Agnostic I never knew if I believed
Today though, I will concede to any God listening
My eyes glistening
Tears of immense sorrow as the results come tomorrow
I’ll never be able to sleep beyond this day
I beg to any God-Don’t take her away
I’ve never written a prayer, or looked to the stars and cared
Until today
I beg of you to heal her and let her stay
Even if it means taking me away

She is the light that keeps me from losing myself in the darkness, and now the darkness is trying to take her, too

Dedicated to my best friend,  Yvonne as she is in the battle of her life right now with a horrible disease.
I can't see her because they are not letting in any visitors in the hospital because of this stupid Covid-19.
