...10 minute dreams...Or were they screams?

By SolApathy

I wonder as I weave
In this poem I deceive
Dreaded desires as minutes are down to the wire
I must light this 10 minute poetic fire
Am I a liar if I take eleven?
Perhaps an ass if I take only 7
Upon this page
Will it be love, or perhaps a blistering rage?
Take into my mind lines in chat
Spit out this chaos rap
Am I trapped in a 10 minute mire?
What of 15…I dream of this desire
Into the eclipse of half thought closet rhymes
Left to sit until this very time
Not knowing what the next line will bring
Perhaps it’ll cry
Or maybe just sing
Light my fire as I dream of crimson flames
Doused by the chill of a winter’s rain
I’ll see you once this poem is through
Wondering what thoughts it stirs within you

"Into the eclipse of half thought closet rhymes..." is hands down one of my favorite lines of poetry ever. I think when poetry grabs you, like that line did to me, it is really holding up a mirror for you to see yourself from a new angle. Scholar
