I peer deep into the heavens as I lay
On this beach as the world around decays
Feeling the sand, damp beneath
Though not of what you think
Blood wells from wounds sustained
Never to be washed away by the pain
So many times, I dreamt of galaxies-- far
Wishing only to find where you are
Buried too soon in that 6-foot tomb
I screamed in defiance of this universe’s decree
Of you not to be with…Me
Now I lay under the stars inhaling the decay
As the world, yes it falls away
A victim of my rage and despair
And in this moment-- I just don’t
…Care
