...Reality's Decay

By SolApathy

Into the echo of a soul out of control
Broken & battered
My will
Shattered
Resolved to play by the rules
For so long you whispered
-I was the fool-
Laughing in the presence of my morality
Today if you listened close enough
You’d hear the crack forming in reality
As I bury a love that never was
Let free a happiness that wasn’t meant for me
Cast aside my soul as I lose control
I escaped this prison
Embracing my decision
Into the pale horizon of infinity beyond the black
I know now there is no turning
…Back
I smirk at the widening crack
Juxtaposition of a burning sky
Embossed with deafening cries as reality dies
My soul long since empty of light
I smile one final time
Knowing love was my only
…Crime

So much emotion goes into loosing someone, and some of the best poems are usually penned from such experiences ... though dark, there was still a bit of light, like living ... excellent.
