...Stigma of the man

By SolApathy

Beyond the depth of insanity’s gates
My deeds and desires painted my canvas of fate
Lost in the tragedy of the path I didn’t see
My eyes closed, senses deceived
Every day, finding it harder to breathe
Sins of the father I am; as I become the breaking man
Stone gaze as the deception plays
Emotions in check, navigating this stifling maze
Praying for a dark dead end
No lights so I can repent for sins
In the silence of a pain I can’t share
Destined to explode
Holding it so tight so it doesn’t show
If only I would have opened my eyes
Trusted my senses and defy the lie
Learn it’s ok to cry
I couldn’t break the stigma of sorrowed eyes
I was a man
And alone in my misery
My soul
…Dies

  • A former member wrote: That has long been the way of the world, hasn't it? The men are supposed to be made of steel and the women are supposed to be so frail. When men finally break, it's truly devastating. I don't think that men should be judged so much by strength, but by the depths of their hearts. A very eye-opening write, dearest. Queen Reb:).
