...Of the last breath
By SolApathy
Into the darkness in which I was bred
I knew soon they would cut off my head
Escaping the light to hide from the fight
Knew in my soul I wasn’t right
Breaking of the door –A horror so much…Less
Than my anticipation of my coming death
Surrounded; I focus on my last breath
I dare to open my eyes as I will embrace my final rest
Finding myself still here comfortable laying upon
... Mothers’ chest
Fallen asleep for just a moment
Forgetting
My fear of her impending death
I wait in painful sorrow of her last
…Breath

What a wonderfully written poem that is beautiful yet heart aching.

The things that are the most beautiful are the ones that can bring us the most pain. Very powerfully scripted, my love. Reb:).

Sounds like a double-edge sword. We'll always feel pain somewhere deep. Powerful and emotional piece. Well done my friend. - 10:43
