Peace
By Lab Rat
I do not speak your tongue
Your context, nor your eyes
Not anymore, I cannot work out the sum
Of your parts, your math defies
All logic I've come
To rely upon
The story of your eyes
Has me at worry and fingers
Tie knots in heart strings and glory
I liked the gory twists in tendons when
You'd sleep heavily in my soul's history
When I was a good guy whispering nonsense
Make believe
I do not speak your language anymore, though
Its Braille and Latin inflection
I used to translate, but now all I do is fail
The incarnation of our forever crumbled
Beneath the weight of my towers lean
Under debris I did nothing but devastate
And I've no more incantations to remedy
There's no more arithmetic for me to use
To appease the trouble of this problem
Like arthritic fingers refusing to move
I can't brush tips across your lips
And gaze fondly with my eyes
As they cloud over with milk
The silk of your moments cry
Out muffled, mouth filled with silt
Delivered from your rivers, your sins
Flowing over the rocks of how I think
Snagging on the cracks in my delicate sanity
I've lost my theory, my thesis on who once
Stood irresolute at my feet
The altar of my truth, we could speak
Of fault and blame
Or seek release.
