The Bitter Truth (men of the cloth)

By A Velvet Tongue

Rip this binding tape
from the judgement
you've placed upon me
just one good thrust
with a sharpened edge
will do nicely

The labels you adhere upon me
smell of stale vomit
an unbemusing insignia that
does not match my eyes..
why so many pretenses?

Is it that you are too small..
that a mere stepstool cannot hoist
your bloated and indulgent....hypocrisy
over your own weighted shoulder?

It is not wise to heave such mass
without an eternal spotter
You, with your books of fiction
spread wide to Psalms 6:9
I'll bet you have it set to memory

With a face, marred in shame
You recite, your cesspools of judgement
you offer splinters of promise
to those lost in the clouds of defeat
such riches await you in death {rot}

A pauper soon shifts to a prince
a whore, graced by a fearful god
oblivious to the secular nation
which houses the very bottle
you sip upon when no eyes are present

Here I entomb the very embodiment
of your Adam..formed from his rib
The very one I cracked wide open
while fucking him last night
The face in my mirror, a likeness of your god

Sinners, Sinners - such as I
can you taste the bitter of my silver sarcasm
Was that you I saw with your hand
resting upon the alter boys head
forcing him to your feet, and your godly cock.

You sicken even a sinner such as me
and yet pass the velvet lined offering plate
smiling the whole while
as your breath smells of old sex
awaiting the final total of todays gifts

I wonder, do you have enough cash now
to go pick up that hooker on 6th steet?
Dont worry, you wont have to go far
to reach your god's forgiveness
he will hear your prayers of relief

You are a man of the cloth

We - beneath you..

Will that settle your shameful soul
Ye, man of the biblical cloth
Wash you white as snow
secure your name in the lambs book of life {strife}
or merely satiate your dirty conscious

Did you gamble the tithings away
to fund your black blood?
triple your enjoyment
at others sweated brow expense
I will not offer a prayer in your name

You gnaw at the downhearted souls
forcing the fear of death upon them
when you have no evidence
that another realm even exists
with millions just like you

I see nothing but a mere insignificant
attachment..stapled to your forehead
Do not lay your wothless deemings
upon ones such as I
Thanks to you I am proud to live within

A Secular Nation....

Sincerely,

The Bitter Truth

well Velvet, I'm thoroughly impressed. People who live by that "book of fiction" differ much from those who live on their own actions and ironically are much closer to sainthood than priests...so i think. this was a great poem! *~seraph~*
