THE PASSING

By Numbers Peppelini

I never knew her by name
yet her sun kissed
auburn hair
I lived a lifetime with

nor did she ever
flip a glance my way
how sure I was
we once grew old together

Her piercing green eyes
like precious jewels
peering miles in front of her
toward greener pastures

to  all  places
angels go dream

How whimsical of me
I thought to myself
to have loved her forever
as her train rumbled pass me

in the opposite direction

This is so beautiful.. Love just out of reach, overlooked, wanting what you cannot have.. Wonderful job with this :)

"like salt to an open wound." Unknown famous quote. I am beginning to think the person who quoted that first was in this same position. Written beautifully.

It's amazing how we make ourselves out to be undeserving of other because of the fate of situations. Whether this be real life, or a dream, the torment in itself unravels the preserved goodness of ones soul. Be careful not to lose all your precious pieces along the way, love. Bitterness tends to latch-on to heartache and bitterness takes total control. This is a very well scripted piece with many sentiments lovers tend to face. I'm guilty of destroying many breathtaking monuments, and I pray I didn't damage their perfect structures. Bows, sir- TG Scholar

It's unreal how beautiful this is! I am overcome with emotion. I don't believe that there are feelings women can't relate to as well (besides phallic sensations), though. The torture of longing is universal. I applaud the speakers mutedness--there is an underlying agony but no theatrics. Lovely work.

..this is beautiful, man, in a way that only men understand. desiring that angel that doesn't realize it, & she dreams her vacuous dreams, & perhaps both our lives will be emptier...
