and intolerable
unpleasant
torture
The very meaning
of the word
Pain
The shifting agony
wallowing beneath
your skin
Under layers
still fortunately intact
Cringing with fear
afraid of the rise
to another level
of intensity
before death
that has you squirming
but pain is god
and it lets you know
you're not dead yet
