L.D.S.K. (Long Distant Serial Killer)
By Malcholm Dark
"Listen
children to a story that was written long ago;
'bout a kingdom on
the hill and the valley folk below..."
Act I (The making)
I await upon high ground ...camouflaged
I see all my
enemies before me
So many through my telescopic sight
Death and carnage, battle field redemption
Daily life here
seems so patriotic
Targets abound for this Army sniper
It's dying time again--I'll play the game
And in the end a
bullet calls their name.
Act II (The breaking)
A metal received for services rendered
Lying here at night,
I'm unable to sleep
Faces of the ones I killed fill my mind
So much death and carnage, faces of war
Medical discharge,
I'm needed no more
My mind gives over to darker thinking
The goodness within me crumbles away
It's dying time
again--I'll play the game.
Act III (L.D.S.K.)
I await upon high ground ...camouflaged
I see all of you down
there before me
So many through my telescopic sight
Your death and carnage is my claim to fame
These pathetic
lives mean nothing to me
Meaningless targets for this psychopath
It's dying time again--I'll play the game
And in the
end, a bullet calls your name.
Act IV (An end to the game)
He waits for me on high ground ...camouflaged
I know
he is there some where, it's my time
So powerful, his telescopic
sight
My demise will be his ticket to fame
One more
target for this police sniper
Like me, he has become immune
to death
It's dying time, I'll play the game once more
And in the end, a bullet calls my name.
"There won't
be any trumpets blowin' come the judgment day;
on the bloody morning
after ...one tin soldier rides away."
Author's Note:
it's been awhile ...so nice to see you all againAwards

Malcholm is definitely Dark on this one, well done and think you might enjoy "The Assassin's Prayer" that I penned in a similar vein. This work is making me paranoid - maybe Santa will bring me a bullet proof vest for Christmas, cheers!

Almost as if the scope of a rifle can desensitize the sniper to murder, simply with distance. Very solid, and intense in places, nice to have you back, my friend.
