To the Imaginary Girl
By Miztaken4beauty
Dear Miss Imaginary Girl,
I owe you an apology
[even though]
you don't know my name.
I heard your Moon Prince
disappeared
and I think I am to blame.
Invisable
and Intangible,
To me, you were never real.
Imaginary, a fairytale.
A fairytale that feels.
I couldn't just stop,
I was unable
to resist.
This fatalistic attraction,
I refused to desist.
[His late night kiss]
So by night I remained
By
his side as if chained.
Where you
belonged.
So,
I'm sorry,
I was wrong.
And just like you,
he'll
leave me, too.
I know you may never understand,
This cloying,
craving, needy demand.
So hate me, please, with your fire.
If
that is what you now desire.
This is the least I can accept,
for
all the nights he never slept.
But don't you worry about a
thing.
I know exactly what time brings.
Soon, The Moon Prince
will ascend,
And my time as consort will also end.
But
now Miss,
I must depart,
With my
[greedy, guilty]
heart.
(I'm Sorry)

Wonderful flow, interesting concept & definite emotional impact. Beautiful! I especially love how the parenthesized sections coalesce with the rest of the poem.

I really loved this. I can actually somewhat relate. It made me pretty sad actually, but that's good. The emotions were very strong.
