the social standards of beauty

By Saint Sentient

miss.
under the bridge I'll kiss you somber.
and bridge the gap between your shoulderblades.
touching your lips like whispers of
blade tipped romances. firecracker beauty
and we'll dance like we're young again.

your eyes sing goodbye. but we walk the miles
from your heart to mine.
and we're peerless.
priceless- in a sense. it's endless.
this love. and I'll smile
as I call you my strawberry princess

the sky screams hideousness. she's begging my decisions
to seep through my skin- bleed her of grace.
and make her as ugly as the charcoal
she paints her masterpieces on the walls with.

and you're beautiful. in no sense of the word.
the world is a daring place.

and I beg. the broken hearted bimbos and speak taboo
it's useless. as we linger on spent promises.
I never tell her she's beautiful. but I did.
and she never swears she's humbled. but she is

in retrospect.
we're both liars.

so kiss me. beautiful. and I'll break you.
this. I can promise.

I dig the title, as well.
