Forever Promises

By Sean Mc Shane

Today, Tomorrow . . .  whenever
I challenge the Keeper of Forever
Come back down to witness this

You, in all your false perfection
             rolling the worthless myth onward
in a truely backwards direction

Then you fold it back more on some new correction
Your self-made philosophies come up short

You, and your whole idiotic idea
with your back up lies falling apart in court

By the end of your soul search report
You knew nothing was written on that stone

when Mars remained constantly silent
and Venus had always been left alone

And now that you own absolute oblivion
You come to me for love

offering a handful of spent wishes
              that you stole from above

Take this time to dream of
what comes from all this dead desire

join the ranks of the Fallen Order
hide your foul words deep in the mire

take more time to really admire
how nothing good came of your game

as Your disturbing old self portrait
             starts to drip from it's bone-shard frame . . .

From religion, to mythology, to dashed plans and a fallen angel perhaps, much to ponder with almost a touch of Dorian Grey at the end, well done Sean!
