Angel Tears

By SweetEvilness93

When I was younger,
You told me,
Clouds were made,
Of the softest fluff,
Anyone could dream of,
And beyond those clouds,
That's where Heaven was,

Thunder was only the sound,
Of God having fun,
It was him bowling,
And when lightening,
Meant that another game,
Had been won,

Raindrops pouring from the sky,
Wasn't water,
But actually angels crying,
Each little drop,
Was a different tear,
They were watching over us,
And there was nothing to fear,

You told me,
That life went on forever,
And no one would ever die,
Especially you because,
You love me too much,
To ever leave my side,

Now that I'm older,
I know what causes storms,
And I know that everyone dies,
At some point in their life,
Forever could be any amount of time,
But forever is never enough,
No matter how long or short it is,

One thing still remains the same,
No matter how old I get,
To me when it rains,
It's more than just water,
Getting everything all wet,
It's the tears of angels,
The people who are gone that I miss,
Among those people,
You are the one I miss the most,
It still kills me knowing you're not here,
But I know it was your time to go,

Your life had been lived,
And your wars had been fought,
I wish I could go back,
To being a child,
When clouds were made of,
The softest fluff I could dream of,
And everyone lived forever,

Whenever it rains,
I think of you and those years,
And sometimes the memories,
Can help me smile through my own tears,
As I say,
I really wish you were still here,

This is a sweet sorrow indeed. Our childhoods are packed with little reminders that the world isn't what it should be, and often leaves us wanting to return to the days when scraped knees and bumble bee stings were the worst of our fears. Your angels are certainly watching over you. Even if life doesn't go on, their soul lives on in our hearts and memories. Thank you for this most inspiring post.
