Scarlet Lessons And Silent Gloom
By Malcholm Dark
Anxiety
comes with the failing light
As darkness falls, so comes the night.
And with the rising of the moon
An ancient curse besets us
soon.
Transcendent evil transforms the man
A terror unleashed
upon this land.
Behold the mighty hulking beast
And upon
our flesh it shall feast.
No man made weapon can bring it
down
Just death and sorrow scattered 'round.
Yes, nothing
can protect these sheep
As morning calls the shepherds weep.
A setting moon brings in the day
Upon this land of hunter's
prey.
We live in fear within this tomb
Scarlet lessons
and silent gloom.

Author's Note:
I was watching the monster man on cable and I wrote this piece... you can't overwrite the werewolf, it's too cool of a monster and never gets old...Comments on "Scarlet Lessons And Silent Gloom"

Scarlet lessons taught by a wolf, I do agree werewolves are brilliant if somewhat savage predators that can be shown in very different ways, perhaps someone could pity a lone wolf one day........ just a thought.
As always, write on.

Nothing beats the classics, the true legendary creatures of the night. I wasn't expecting couplets from you, but you use them well, a surprise in more than one way, great to see you back, we've been worried.

Thinking of you just the other day sir. Lon Chaney Jr. would have loved this tribute, even if his old Hollywood makeup was hokey by modern standards. I still like "American Werewolf in London" from about 25 years ago, very scary stuff. Don't go out on the moors after dark now, cheers!
