Just Yesterday...
By SweetEvilness93
I was going through,
Some old stuff in my room today,
I came
across a pink box,
That said "My Keepsakes",
I've had it ever
since,
I was a little girl,
The box is full of memories,
Some
that would be painful now,
But I opened up the box anyhow,
And
what I saw,
Brought tears to my eyes,
Even though I tried my
best not to cry,
The pictures and things were old,
But the memories
were,
Still crystal clear,
As if it were just yesterday...
Just
yesterday,
I was a child,
Skipping along the streets,
While
you and grandpa,
Walked right beside me,
Always smiling,
I
guess I made you two,
Happy,
Just yesterday,
I was cuddled
up on your lap,
Sleeping off a terrible cold,
With your arms
around me,
I was safe and warm,
Knowing you were there,
To
take care of me,
Just yesterday,
You were helping me,
Off
to the bus stop,
So I wouldn't be late for,
The first day of
school,
And your eyes watered,
As you said,
"My girl is
growing up.",
It seems like just yesterday,
You were taken from
us,
It still hurts not having you around,
But I know you had
to go,
You had enough of the pain,
And suffering,
But,
I wish,
For just one day,
I could go back,
To a better
time,
That seems like it was,
Just yesterday,

aww, what an amazing pink box you have. there full of wonderful memories. you will cherish them forever. i have a similiar box. sometimes when im feeling down, ill look at them. and it invokes memories of a time, like for you them holding your hand as a child. this is a very touching poem. and this poem was like opening my own box of memories. thanks for sharing evilness!
