Leaving
By darkness falls
I'm falling again through dark skies of pain
Where the stars shine
cold and cruel
Alone and uncaring, abandoned by hope
Branded
an outcast fool
I thought it was done, thought I'd gotten away
Broke free of the ties that bound me
But I look around, there's
no one there
As far as my eyes can see
I've tried to find
a way to break out
But I'm lost in the grip of this madness
And
farther I fall, down and down
Toward the depths of eternal sadness
I wish I could share but one last touch
A laugh, a sigh, the
love in her eyes
But these walls unshakeable and unbreakable
Echo
back the sound of my cries
The taste of happiness now long
since gone
Memories of another place
Where I was loved for a
short time
The sun was warm on my face
Somehow for me
its got to end
I pray for my time to come
The hope I had has
faded away
And lifes light has gone down with the sun
Tell
them I loved them....

That last line was beautiful tragic and haunting. This is a great poem. I know life gets hard, but there's always something worth living for. I hope you find peace and happiness! Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing!

I hope this does not seriously reflect your current mental state...we all feel like giving up sometimes...but those of us who choose to keep on living, no matter how shitty life is, have the real strength...good write...can feel hopelessness...sadly...

Such gloominess. A very serious topic, leaving this world we call home. It seems as if the light never shines upon those who are down in the dark. But something I realized not too long ago, is that living in the dark is what makes me somewhat happy, just think about that. Anyways nice poem!
