Insomnia
By SulaMoon
All these words
Swirl through my head
All I wish
is to go to bed
As the pillow cradles my head
So I can
fall asleep
Yet if I fell asleep
I know
Twisted images
would fill my mind
Sweet dreams
They don’t exist
I know
For nightmares are so unkind
I dream of nightmares
and of tragedies
Of what tomorrow might bring
The maladies and
lucid dreams
Of what the past has given me
It’s rendered
me paranoid
It’s rendered me ill
It’s rendered me crazy
Like I just want to kill
Kill the past
Kill the present
Kill the future
Kill the whispers
They are dangerous
creatures
The voices tell me to run and hide
From the things
I cannot see
These voices crash thru like thunderous tides
From
the violent seas
If I wish to fall asleep
I know
I
must learn one thing
To ignore the things swimming through my
mind
And pretend there’s nothing wrong with me

I have a special thing for nightmares: I am specially good at remembering any dream. All of them, really. It's a curse and a blessing... and you've captured it very well. Good write!

I've had this happen to me but it's extremely rare in my case, even so when it happens it really ruins my day since my body is use to getting it's full 7- 8 hrs of sleep. Great write my friend, I'm definately looking forward to checking out what else you have posted on here. Write on =)

Sounds like my brand of insomnia, knowing that every time your eyes shut, you're sent to the mind's twisted playground. Excellent work, I could feel the madness swirling about as I read this.
