My Final Breath




Though I was bleeding, nearly blind-
And though my heart was breaking-
You took me out of Hell to find-
A World for the taking.

Now that I'm dying, I reflect-
So soon I'll go with Death-
Regrets and Sorrows I reject-
I draw my final breath.

My life was filled with that and this-
I lost my youthful years-
I ran with Chaos, and slept in Bliss-
And now I'm through with tears.

I'm bleeding out upon the floor-
But still I laugh out loud-
Tomorrow, I will breathe no more-
Of how I lived, I'm proud.

I saw the worst this world could give-
I lost and still I found-
I know what it is, to truly live-
I always stood my ground.

I'll not deny my past was bleak-
I cheated, killed, and thieved-
But still, when I was very weak-
In justice, I believed.

I've went to war and been to Hell-
I've loved, I've lost, and cried-
To many friends I've said farewell-
So many of them died.

I carried with me memories-
Through twilight, night, and dawn-
I overcame my enemies-
And always carried on.

I've fought with heroes, laughed with kings-
I've broken chains that bound me-
I figured out so many things-
And when I lost, you found me.

We ran together in the sun-
And laughed within the Night-
And now that my time is finally done-
I say we won the fight.

You and I, we had a go-
We took our every chance-
And when I'm gone, I hope you'll know-
I love you, our romance.

With all that said, now that I'm dying-
As I am torn in half-
Please don't spend too much time crying-
For as I die, I laugh.

The Reaper's here, he's at my door-
"One moment, Death" I tell him-
After this I'll speak no more-
I shall not try to fell him.

Please wipe away the tears you cried-
Remember me, my wife-
Know that in peace, though young, I died-
I lived a happy life.

Death knocks again upon my door-
I'm ready now, for Death-
And now that I'm alive no more-
I take my final breath.
