Chasm - The Mind

By Beautiful Incidental

Contaminated reflection - mirror knows not my name -
I've been idling in exhaustion - treading the surface - routines the same -
Craving a substantial release - form a fist - break this glass -
Revel in the mystery of how the light refracts.
Now I'm weightless - without form - free to be on my own -
Mismatched faces - infinite claims - enter blessed silence - eyes close.
The monotony of breathing - let it go - flee far from safety -
And the perpetual haunting of human frailty.
I enter the aperture kneading inclination - bleeding virtue -
Willing the wounds to scar - I persist - plunge deeper with fortitude -
Determined to escape the illusion - the deviating definitions -
Solitary confinement nurturing instinctual innocence -
Feigning security - now breathe - open my eyes - analyze -
The shattered existence - my image tainted by shards - lies -
Desires of the self held captive inside.
