there is nothing new here
By whisperer
there is nothing new here
paused within that scent of decay, moral authority
immoral majority reigns decadent tidbits of info down around my steel pierced
ears
seconds tick by as my 1971 dollar coin dives head first towards my palm,
a decision left to chance
another song left rain against the window frames of the eyeless
the blind are fed sheet music
while homeless raving downers are shouting at the signs in a del taco,
and i, living out of my car, sit drinking in the parkinglot
watching
hoping to fucking christ that it wont be me there
screaming at what appears to be ronald reagan hiding in a tuesday taco
night poster in few years
there is nothing new here, im getting drunk
pondering all the ways my precariously good situation could be fucked
with a baseball bat and a gallon of draino
a nihilist once said people are like dice, we are how we fall after we
toss ourselves in the direction we "want" to go
i dont think thats really nihilism
but im more of an exhistentialist anyway i suppose
not as cynical anymore
second only to the drunken version of me who can actually say what he means
and feels coherently and without beating around the miles of rose bushes
there is nothing new here
there is nothing
new here
nothing here
new there is

I love where you talk about the moral majority. They're "normal" way of life is so perfect and yet in the midst of it is all this craziness going on and we just pretend it isn't there. Also, like the reference about being drunk just to be yourself.
