Devouring Camelot

By cadymae

you're drowning in your mortality
a spectre de la mort
snuffs your joie de vivre

who will you offer your
"hail fellow well met" to now?

I can't speak the language of the man I'm looking for

The one who'll save me from myself
But I know he tips his head just so

And he does not glad-hand

and he will not be surprised
at the feel of steel
serrating his ribcage

I savor my feasts on the earnest
Their juices run different down my chin

So clever, so delicious and such a rush to read and digest. Damn fine genius.

Quite a tantalizing work you have here well done.

Oh my word... I've not read such poetry in quite some time. You remind me of one of my favorite famous poets, Gwendolyn Brooks, no one can hold a candle to her with such poise and perfection, but you... . I'm floored. I'm sorry, I'm gibbering. Perfection! -Curtseys Scholar

"I can't speak the language of the man I'm looking for" - lines like that are why I love your work. This is another great offering that has wonderful turns of phrase and imagery. Awesome work! Ciao, T/S Scholar

Save us all from Ernest and his band of merry idealists Cadymae! You offer up a piece du resistance here with your considerable culinary skills and poetic perfection in constructing this daft characterization run amok. Loved it and so good to read you again, cheers! - Dan characterization.
