Sickened
by a lust for darkness
Rummaging
through weedy thoughts
in attempt to reminisce
on almost vacant traces
of the good I thought was left
Frantically consuming
each & every drop
from a glass bottle
filling me from head to toe-top
How could I (how would I) forget?
Blissful memories lingered
& however did it enlighten
everyone, but me?
Searching in every direction
Turning around just to see
the shadow
seemingly lurking in the distance
wasn't so distant to me
Drowning
in liquid-induced emotions
Losing a great deal of sleep
A cause & effect corrosion
set in scars so very deep
Stuck & helpless
in an everlasting battle
against the world,
myself & dreams
The future seemed so far away
so I cried out unto a light
as it refused to share its beams
I don't know
how much more I can fight
I'm left with nothing else to say
or knowledge of what it means
to look forward to a brand new day
so I opened another bottle
& drank my life away

Sometimes the only thing that keeps you going is those people who want you to fall, so you never stop moving forward as a big fat fuck you to them all.
