An Angels Song

By Ladyhawke

Fragments of moments
abducted from dreams
carry with them angels
through a garden
whilst she sings

A haunting fair note
grabbed heaven by ear
thy planets as witness
dote her presence
they appear

Crash wave upon rocks
or breeze 'mongst the hills
'tis like her presence near
like a prophet
once fulfilled

She sings of her chains
a dungeon confined
kept her Pandora's box
locked in her heart
and her mind

She craves, no, she lusts
to realign the stars
to gain Luna's mercy
for her kindness
stretches far

A cloud leaf'd entrance
your dreams drip sorrow
her melancholic song
whispers to her
".... tomorrow."

Just beautiful... The melody is so gentle, so soft, the images... there's so much that can be said about them. I'll just mention the first two lines (killer start for the poem), the Pandora bit and "your dreams drip sorrow" (both the alliteration and the image behind the words). Those were my favourite, although the poem is too beautiful and organically whole to be dismembered like this.

Very delicate, ethereal imagery and subject matter. Makes me feel like I'm floating, perhaps closer to the same new beginning. Scholar
