Alice and TheHatter (The real story)

There's this unforgettable boy.
who shall remain un-named.
He's a master of manipulation,
and used to play love as a game.

He'd roam from town to town,
using his unique form of combat.
Stealing hopeless,poor girls hearts,
just to keep them in his top hat.

With nothing but his warm blue stare
and the soft wickedness heard in his voice.
He'd lure them in just to break their hearts,
convincing them in the end, it was their choice.

Until one day he met a girl,
Who was lost in his twisted world.
Innocent and beautiful, he began to fall,
until his lies one by one unfurled.

See, this girl saw through the malevolence,
looking deep into those hypnotizing eyes.
Just a poor lost boy so insecure and alone,
using his lid full of hearts as a disguise.

She one by one, emptied that thing,
replacing their hearts with her own.
Not realizing she'd never get it back,
because her heart would later be sewn.

Years went by, as did the lies
but she tried her best to keep it together.
For a promise meant more to this girl,
than some stupid top hats feather.

In the end she chose to leave him alone,
hoping one day he'd learn to be better.
After several years of trying to move on,
they both learned the true meaning of forever.

Heartache grew to sleepless nights,
no other companions could seem to compare.
Both lovers grew restless, and his heart cold.
nothing left but regrets and despair.

Now i'd love to change this piece of non fiction,
just to give it that perfect fairytale ending.
but i've learned in life that some relationships,
are far too gone past the point of mending.

The reality is...
They've chosen to stay far apart.
yet they both hold on to a keepsake,
Yes, they still have one anothers hearts.
