Lady Ariel

By Henry Coldnight

She always do these three things before bed:
She receives fresh wounds and cuts,
She paints her armor with mud and blood,
She asks her dead friend where it hurts.

Her dead friend's name is Excalibur--
They have been friends since the day
He returned to Avalon, and forever--
They will fight--until one of them...decays.

Then she wakes up, stretches, gets dressed,
Washes her face, brushes her teeth,
Puts on some makeup with mud and blood,
Combs her hair with the raining arrows.

Her dead friend's name is Excalibur--
They have been friends since the day
He returned to Avalon, and remember--
They will die, but she will never run away.
