Broken eyes

By Bloodofdeadpoets

I look into the eyes of men who have fallen to hard
Leaving their bones broken and minds mentally scarred
I wonder how does one regain his composure once in this bind
When the solutions lay in plain site but remain hard to find
When your nerves are shot and your hands refuse to be still
When you raise the blade to your heart but reluctantly lose the will
Sitting in silence with arms and legs loosely but securely restrained
Giving you the false sense of slipping them off if you were not so drained
But the saddening truth is your between a rock and a very hard place
And once again you wonder how you have fallen so far from grace
You find yourself giving in now an praying to the powers that be
But cut short by the demons in your mind that caused your insanity
So you plea with them for the mercy of a swift and silent demise
And as you hear their answer you smile and your soul no longer cries
As you are comforted but the black cloaked assassin with hollow broken eyes

Very astute observation of typical human condition. Depressing description of being stuck in a rut. Well done.

"And once again you wonder how you have fallen so far from grace" What perfect timing to read this. All I can say is thanks for writing it.
