My Changes

By AppleDumpling

Going back in time
Is a pleasant thing to do
And remembering all my friends
And the things we use to do
The dances was held
In the old grange hall
And everyone was there
Some one would yell at old John
“Come and call the square”
The music wasn’t high class
But no one even cared

But time has passed
And everything has changed
It’s hard to think of all my friends
Now lying in their grave
But they will forever
Live in my mind
Until I pass away

She was my best friend. She was my other mother. She was my grandma. She was my confident. She was the one person I could rely on. Some people are supportive. Other people avoid me. Some people (my friends) are hurt that I'm not leaning on them. I don't want to lean on anybody...I don't deserve it. Grandma, how can it be true? How can you really be gone? Why didn't I say goodbye or I love you that morning? Do you hate me now? Do you resent me? Do you still love me? I love you.

:::sniffle::: I guess you were wrong, I guess I was too. Our mind is such a delicate thing...one little blood clot...too much time lost...and POOF!! Stories, lives, people...vanish from memory like they were never there. This makes me so sad to read grandma...so sad.

So sad, yet sweet all the time. It's good to concentrate on the good memories. A lovely piece.

"And the things we use to do/The dances was held/In the old grange hall" I loved the dialect of those lines and the piece as a whole was beautiful and evocative.

Agreed, We are soo young yet, and can already see the many different paths we have taken. Wonderful Write, just dont forget that the younger ones do still like to listen, so share on and those memories will live for longer than you can imagine. -Heather

I still find it so hard to accept sometimes, the surreal feeling of those gone before me, I shall never touch again in my life...others I just wonder...Feel I'm living life with a chunk out of it. Look forward to seeing more.
