Spin the bottle

By Bluegirl

Just one sip
takes me over the edge
and I'm sucked
in the downward
stagger and stumble
to stop the flow
like an octopus on land
I seek the sea

Just one tip/sy
of the bottle
and there's no telling -
you can't stop time
anymore than I can stop
the slur of scenery
It's like trying to hold
the ocean with a spoon

I am lost in my silent
C

O

R N E R

of hell, with nothing
but the swirl and defeat
of this bottle
