Tell it to the Court

(A brief explanation of the No Child Left Behind Act through the eyes of
its makers.)
Hello, gentlemen!
I’ve got a new bill to pass
We call it No Child Left Behind
(No Child being the wealthy class)
Ha-Ha, just a little joke I like to tell
It makes the product easier to sell
To all you mavericks of oil
And outsourcers of jobs
I’ve got a way to get a hold
On those poor old slobs:
Their children.
I don’t have to tell you twice,
The minorities and poor
Will be the one’s to pay the price
Gentlemen, you will be most elated
To know that the schools, well,
They run the risk of being terribly rated
Parents who can will pull their kids out
The students who can’t will never excel!
For there’s a racial gap, you see,
That embodies our society
It helps our cause to keep it wide
In order to keep our hierarchy
Everyone will take these tests!
No matter how smart, or how dumb
They’ll be treated like the rest!
Even if they speak a different tongue
But we’ll do all that and more!
We need more soldiers?
There surely aren’t enough!
Couldn’t have had a better idea
Than to make the tests too tough
To ease the process for the army
We’ll give the address and numbers
Of every student in the nation
So they have the preparation
Of knowing who and when to call.
Oh no folks, that’s not all!
When the schools begin to fall
And crumble to a bitter end
It’s not our job to fund the failed
So upon us they cannot depend!
Now please sign this bill
It’s just what we need
To keep the poor poorer
And to help the rich succeed.

Facinatingly satiricle, with an undeniable ring of truth... I like it!

I don't even entirely agree, and I think it's great. Razor-sharp, snappy, clear, witty, measured. I like that it has stanzas, it's almost sing-song in that way.
