Phoenix - Redefined

By mysticventures

Buried

In the ashes of my heart

Lay the smoldering embers

Of lust

Desire

And greed

Though fanned

By the winds

Of temptation

Tis' the egos breath

That sets the blaze

Alight

And

The fiery passions

Which burn within me

Searing my soul

From the inside -

Out

Lust and desire don't just burn themselves; they'll consume you if you let them. Good write, even though I'm 3 months behind!

The last 3 lines, well they are me. My comment here wouldn't suffice, or give this any justice.

my dear june, I do believe you put more thought into your comments than I do my poetry - you bring life to the ashes of my work - you truly are my phoenix :)
