Thank You Gene Pool

By manunkind

Thoughts like
Quiet feathers
Sprinkle the winter
Wearied earth.

Tinkling crystals:
Form and sound!
A crescendo in
Pattering symphony;
Looming clouds grow
Heavy and shadowed.

Dreams fall fast
To meet the ground,
Shattering their fragile shells
Upon the unforgiving cement.
Pieces of wisdom
Shower the unsuspecting mind
With sudden epiphany.

Enlightenment cuts the
Dusky sky with-
a bold zig zagging light.

The cathedral of the heavens
Vaingloriously booms,
Projecting its
Deep, melodious song.

An inspiration to capture the world
Pours from the pregnant clouds
And fills the air with static.

Lifting his head to the dark abyss,
Enthusiasm and delight
Drips abundantly
Down the poet’s face.

Chilled and soaked through,
He is on his knees-
Embracing the skies and
Giving thanks.
