Inside Looking Out

By suicidalsecrecy

She has a longing for a life that doesn't exist
As long as she continues to cut her wrists
Family and friends on the outside
Wait to greet her with arms open wide
But she struggles daily with Death at her door
Wondering if she can take life anymore
She hurts herself daily and will never amount
To anything other than being found
Dead on the floor
By an open door
Where Death slipped in
And tried to win
By stealing her soul
From God's hands
She's dead now
They'll know where she stands
In Hell she'll be forevermore
Because Death slipped in through the open door

  • A former member wrote: until you comprehend, until you come out the other side and find peace. Hang on tight, you really are a great writer and the world is holding its breath to see what you may become. Kisses. Dusty.

  • A former member wrote: I know this may not make sense at all right now, and it exasperates me that I can’t make you understand. Just know that, eventhough she is a stranger, someone is hoping, and praying to life, that you will be able to resist this time, these years, of pain

  • A former member wrote: but because life, with both the good and the bad, is just too beautiful. Then even cutting will be fine, because it will just be something to give you balance... blood and pain as a reafirmation of life, not as something that hurts you even more...

  • A former member wrote: ...One day, I hope, you’ll finally go outside and into your family and friends’ arms, and you’ll love them beyond comprehension. And then you’ll know what it is to cry not because of pain...

  • A former member wrote: ... then they both become just as beautiful. I know it may be hard right now, but eventually you may come to realize that pain and depression are just a wonderful aspect of life, they just make you stronger, better, and more positive

  • A former member wrote: Still, it saddens me, because I wish I could make you understand that Death is not an escape.. that’s not its point. You can’t be in love with death unless you love life too, you don’t get death till you accept life...

  • A former member wrote: I really like this poem, I think it is very well written, very eloquent. I can hear the pain in it, because I could once relate, as I’m sure many on this website can...

  • A former member wrote: wow...this poem speaks to me a lot because i struggle with the same issues.
