Detached
By Thorn
You seem so distant.
Or am I the one
Drifting away?
I realize...
I don't care...
Like I used to.
Because you seem to have
Nothing more to say.
We were apart
So long...
And now together, again.
But I don't feel like I did
Before you left.
I accepted that you were gone,
But now you have returned
Leaving me trapped...
Between mindsets and emotions.
...Or lack thereof.
Your absence made me realize...
I love you;
But I don't need you.
I know I would live on
Were we to part.
But I still want us to be
In hopes that these detached feelings...
Will pass...
As all things are wont to do.

Sounds kinda like my step dad right now, in my mom's case... "I love you;
But I don't need you." Very nice.

This one was spur-of-the-moment, too, so I haven't had time to refine it, yet.
