fire starter
By missanthropic
fantasy kissing
with a make-believe boy
a reverie fueled by
flickering memories which,
like accidental arson in the summertime
threaten to ignite the thirsty fields of this wild earth
osculatory gestures incite the blaze
which, all too quickly becomes a sea of flames
that even here in this dream,
do warm the body like a calenture,
that augurs to spread beyond
the effects of cool logic and reason
engulfed and overrun by the unrelenting fire,
she surrenders her will and begins to fan the inferno
with such fervor that sweat seeps from her pores
silent as gas from stomata openings
having been doused, she awakens -
steamy guilt rises from her body
though she remains smacking her lips
charred, raw and still thirsty...

Full of imagery, and profoundly sexual in a way. Excellent, as always.
