The Other Side
By Gideon Lost
I awoke today on the other side
Funny, I didn’t expect it to be like this
It isn’t bad
But it isn’t the same
Now I live
Here
I will become accustomed
Merciless experience
Has a way of driving you
Onward
Can a pillar of salt
Turn to human if it looks back?
I’ve used up my wishes
The only magic left
Is in me
To fan this spark of a life
Into a warm and mellow flame
And my ashes
Will make the ground fertile
The grass here will be green
Again

This is so human, so humble, so full of hope and promise yet questioning. Well done.
