After-Dinner Mint

By MercyRain

your post-sex smiles
laughing beautiful
smiling in the nakedness
wrapped in warmth of lover’s flesh
wrapped in warmth of love’s embrace
where pain and hate are eased from the world
reduced
to the damp of the sheets
brushing the hairs from the teeth

living in Heaven
I could die here in your arms
and never notice
longing
the moon in your eyes
the blossom in your smile
the naked truth in your touch

superb write... so tangible and almost reachable, but it just manages to escape my fingertips, wonderful, wonderful feeling evoked from this piece. Yummm. Thank you.

This assembles the soul of sex into a few short words, as only poetry could... the first line was perfect; sucked me in like an industrial vacuum cleaner, and the progression from the raunchy hair comment to the beautiful ending was masterful.
